SunGod's Top 5 - Adventures To Take You Off The Beaten Track

Stories

With The Days Getting Longer And The Temperatures Rising Its The Perfect Time To Start Planning New Adventures.

We’ve been reflecting on some of our most memorable adventures from the last year. From Switzerland’s most remote Alpine lakes to SUPing in Norway. There should be something here to inspire even the most seasoned of adventurers.

1. Talaia d’Albercutx, Majorca

If you're an adventure runner or hiker, then planning a route that finishes at this stunning view point is a must. This rugged and exposed summit offers a panoramic vista of raw nature at it’s finest. A more than rewarding finish to a climb that's certainly not for the faint hearted.

2. Oeschinen Lake, Switzerland

Escape to a secluded wild swimming spot. Hidden in the Swiss Alps and sitting just above Kandersteg, this pristine mountain lake is served by the glacial brooks of the 3,000m peaks of Blüemlisalp, Oeschinenhorn, Fründenhorn and Doldenhorn. An adventurer’s dream, the tranquillity is unrivalled and the views some of the most unspoilt around. And as for the water temperature, we’ll let you find that out.

3. The Klara River, Norway

For SUPers looking to venture away from warm water and busy beaches the Kala River in Norway offers something truly magical. Surrounded by dense pine forests and with rapids and calm water in equal measure, the river makes for a SUP adventure like no other. Just make sure to plan your trip well as the hikes back upstream can take you longer than you think.

4. Le Morne, Mauritius

Where else in the world can you kite surf in the shadow of a world heritage site? Le Morne in Mauritius may be less off the beaten track than some of our other adventures, but the favourable winds, warm water and world class views make it the perfect location for adrenalin junkies and nature lovers alike.

5. Dinaric Alps, Bosnia - Italy

An adventure for touring cyclists who aren’t afraid of steep climbs and tight lines, planning a route along the Dinaric Alps will certainly be a trip of a lifetime. You’ll be met by a bit of everything, from stunning mountain scenery to 90’s retro cars. And if you plan your routes right you’ll be lucky to see another cyclist on the road.
