ARA are not only the no.1 ranked Mens and Womens race team in Australia, they also have the no.1 ranked male and female riders in Australia.
ARA Skip Capital founded and formed by professional cyclists Ben Kersten and Matt Wilson, is a UCI Continental Professional team, which forms part of the Australian Cycling Academy.
Their ethos is to ‘create a better future for Australian cyclists, on and off the bike’. With the ACA athletes have the unique opportunity to live, learn and ride. Integrating a unique blend of high-performance sport, tertiary study and professional mentoring from a single hub at the University of the Sunshine Coast; this is a new generation for Australian cycling.
A winning formula.
Proof that Ben and Matt are creating a winning formula at ARA comes in the consistency of results for the team across the board. In 2022, Kane Richards and Dani De Francesco topped the series GC ladder and Will Eaves took the accolades for the 3 stage Santini Junior 19 National Road Series. Hamish Makenzie and Isabelle Carnes were also named the 2022 AusCycling Junior Road Cyclists of the year.
2022 was a big year for the elite team too, with four riders including Cameron Scott, Maeve Plouffe, Lauren Perry and Anya Louw all signed professional contracts to join the European peloton.
2023 is already off to a great start for ARA, with the team taking home 11 medals at the Federation University National Road Championships including three national titles. The women's team were also a strong force at the Tour Down Under, their very first WorldTour race in Australia - lots more to come here we do not doubt.
We're stoked to continue supporting ARA Skip Capital as they nurture the next generation of cyclists.
